The plot of the movie “The Third Party Is Not at Fault?” reaches a dramatic climax when the three husbands – Gia Huy (played by Quoc Huy), Chi Kien (played by Van Anh) and Doctor Vinh (played by Nguyen Phi Hung) – take turns confessing their feelings to their lovers. In response, the “third parties” have different reactions: Hana (played by Trinh My Duyen) chooses to avoid, Cam Tu (played by Tram Anh) happily accepts her love and Cat Tuong (played by Tam Trieu Dang) is confused.
The focus is still on the relationship between Gia Huy, Hana and the "first wife" Thien Kim (played by Ammy Minh Khue). Realizing that what she needs most is not a career or money but her husband's heart, Thien Kim also discovers that he has feelings for her close younger sister. The "first wife" is in pain and panic, and goes to the "third party" to question her. In a fierce confrontation, Thien Kim cannot contain her anger and slaps Hana, pushing the tension to its peak.
Sharing about this psychological scene, Trinh My Duyen said: “The behind-the-scenes experience was brutal. On the first day I joined the crew, I acted out a scene where I was slapped. Over and over again, I received nearly 20 slaps from Ammy Minh Khue. She slapped me and the whole crew was startled, everyone asked me if I was okay and if it hurt. When I rehearsed with the director, I was slapped for real. After filming that scene, one side of my cheek was swollen. The scene in the movie is a light slap scene, the sound of the slap is also light. There were many strong parts that even I was startled.”
