On the afternoon of May 13, the People's Committee of Dong Hoi City announced that it had just issued an official dispatch announcing the handling of violations of traffic safety and order through a surveillance camera system installed in the city.
Accordingly, the surveillance camera system is a part of the Dong Hoi Smart City Construction Project. From June 1, 2022, the authorities have carried out image-based traffic violation fines according to the provisions of Decree No. 135/2021/ND-CP.
In 2024, the city has installed 21 additional traffic cameras, including 1 camera specializing in monitoring and handling speeding violations. Previously, 27 cameras were installed in the 2021-2022 period. All devices have been integrated into the City Smart Urban Monitoring and Operation Center.
The City People's Committee informs organizations and individuals in the area about the official application of handling violations via cameras from May 15, 2025. People can look up information about violations through the DongHoi SmartCity application.
On the same afternoon, the Traffic Police Department of Quang Binh province informed that after the city counted the violations, the data would be transferred to the department. From here, the department will issue a notice to punish violations.
