The service is expected to be deployed from the end of July, during the peak of fall tuition fees at Korean schools.
Korea is a popular study abroad destination for Vietnamese students. According to the Korean Ministry of Education, as of April 2024, the number of Vietnamese international students at universities and Korean language training centers reached 56,000 people, accounting for 26.8% of the total number of international students, second only to China.
Parents are currently facing some inconveniences when paying tuition fees such as complicated procedures, long processing time or arising costs. Some schools require students to have a bank account in Korea, which can be confusing at first when not used to the way of operating in the new environment.
In order to solve the inconveniences of international tuition payment, Zalopay cooperates with Danal and Shinhan Bank to deploy payment solutions in Korea.
Parents can easily pay tuition fees through the Danal payment portal by scanning the VietQR code provided by Zalopay, compatible with most banking and e-wallet applications in Vietnam or paying directly via the Zalopay application.
Not only saving time, the solution also helps parents and students reduce complicated procedures when they do not have to directly handle foreign currency or through other service organizations.
In the initial implementation phase, more than 96 universities in Korea will apply international tuition payment via Danal and Shinhan Bank. The integration of Zalopay into the system promises to promote the strong development of the service, expanding the scope of service to more users in the coming time.
Mr. Tran Ba Khoi Nguyen - Deputy General Director of Zalopay expects the cooperation with Danal and Shinhan Bank to bring more convenient and safer payment solutions to Vietnamese parents and students.
