This is a song that Cao and Thom composed and performed before they had any intention of leaving the group. Cao personally produced the music for this new MV, under the stage name BeatThatHits.
"Em a em oi" is about the emotions of a man who, after many years, looks back on an unfinished love that has passed. Memories and beautiful memories suddenly come flooding back, making him nostalgic and regretful about the past. But when he reaches middle age, he chooses to face it gently, without any obsession.

The MV is like a gentle confession of Cao and Thom, as well as a message that does not need a response to the lover of that year. Using lofi hiphop material, the song has a slow rhythm, aiming to express the sad and anxious mood of the character. Both artists use simple lyrics, rich in storytelling but not lacking in evocative power.
The MV "Em a em oi" was directed by Khoi Nguyen - who has been in charge of many projects for the Da LAB band. Throughout the MV, contrasting images from space, color tones to the interaction between the two dancers are clearly shown, to depict the interweaving and tearing between the past and the present, happiness and sadness, desire and reality, togetherness and loneliness.
Cao did not act at all, but gave most of the images in the MV to two contemporary dancers. Depicting the emotions in the song through body language, Uong's choreography was also taken from his own story, convincing Cao right from the first demos.

Talking about the new song, the former member of Da LAB said: "At the age of U40, it is reasonable that I often think. I have had many experiences and conclusions, and can draw conclusions about some things. I do not regret the decisions I have made, but I still regret the good things."
It is known that "Em a em oi" is in MPaKK's first solo E.P since leaving the group Da LAB. The E.P is called "Random Thoughts - After Exit", written about his random thoughts after going through each long story, coincidentally also released right after leaving the group.
The E.P will have 4 songs including: "Loops" (feat. GDucky), "Em a Em oi" (feat. Thom), "Hanh phuc la gi" (feat. nan), "Khe doi mi em lai bong anh khong con" (feat. Shun, Van Lii).
Collaborating with many other artists on his personal E.P., MPaKK is not afraid of being "in the spotlight". He feels a spiritual connection and musical compatibility with each artist when sending out collaboration invitations.
Releasing an album filled with personal thoughts, MPaKK shared that he has become accustomed to facing concerns over the past 20 years.
"I often had many questions from the first years of university, when I began to clearly perceive life and lost direction. Asking questions and finding answers helped to redefine life's purpose and direction at many different times" - Cao said.
