After implementing the process of looking up and supporting emergency medicines among medical examination and treatment facilities in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that there are currently 14 hospitals participating in looking up and sharing 37 emergency medicines, including: Children's Hospital 1, Children's Hospital 2, Children's Hospital City, Hung Vuong, Tu Du, Tropical Diseases, Binh Dan, Blood Transfusion-Hematology, Heart Institute, Nguyen Trai, Nguyen Tri Phuong, People's 115, People's Gia Dinh and Trung Vuong.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that in recent years, some emergency drugs have become scarce, making it difficult for hospitals to ensure adequate supplies.
Therefore, the Department has built an emergency medicine lookup application to create an information system linking general and specialized hospitals in the city. This system will help monitor, update and coordinate emergency medicines, thereby supporting hospitals to quickly access emergency cases.
The lookup software has main functions such as: updating information on emergency medicine inventory; looking up and searching for emergency medicine at hospitals; monitoring and warning about inventory status at medical examination and treatment facilities to have timely intervention measures.
The process of looking up and supporting emergency medicine between medical facilities in Ho Chi Minh City on the application includes 3 steps: the doctor on duty looks up emergency medicine on the application, the hospital leader contacts and requests drug support, and the pharmacy staff on duty and the head of the pharmacy department receive emergency medicine.
The list of emergency drugs will be updated and supplemented based on regulations, actual supply situation and urgent needs of medical facilities to ensure timely emergency care.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health emphasized, "Ensuring timely and adequate supply of drugs, especially emergency drugs for specific specialties, is a vital requirement for the daily emergency operations of each hospital."
