On October 18, Quang Tri General Hospital announced that the unit had just successfully organized a workshop on "Gastrointestinal endoscopy: Update diagnosis and intervention" with the participation of many leading experts in the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy.
The workshop was attended by Dr. Le Quang Nhan - Vice President of the Vietnam Gastroenterology Association (VIGES), Dr. Tran Nhu Nguyen Phuong - Director of the Endoscopy Center, Hue Central Hospital; MSc. Dr. Le Phu Tai - General Secretary of VIGES, along with many experts from Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Da Nang and medical facilities in the province.
Dr. Truong Vinh Quy - Deputy Director of Quang Tri General Hospital said that gastrointestinal endoscopy is playing a key role in diagnosing and treating digestive diseases thanks to its ability to intervene early, accurately, and less intensively. Many cases that previously required surgery can now be effectively treated with modern endoscopy techniques, helping to reduce complications and costs for patients.

At the workshop, delegates updated new advances in diagnosis and treatment of early digestive cancer and reflux pancreatic coronary endoscopy (ERCP). Notably, Quang Tri General Hospital has successfully performed the technique of removing gallstones through endoscopy for 3 patients and completely removing early cancer damage by sub-linal scraping (ESD), cutting surface using the modern Endoscopic Hand-Siving (EHS) method with Sutu Art tool - an advanced technology applied for the first time in the Central region.
The workshop is not only a forum for academic exchanges and experience sharing between endoscopists inside and outside the province, but also opens up new development directions in the application of high technology at the provincial level, contributing to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, bringing practical benefits to the people.
