Previously, Ms. NTA (65 years old, residing in Tam My Tay commune, Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province) came home from work, sat on a chair and suddenly fell to the ground, paralyzed on the right side of her body, became drowsy, and had difficulty speaking. Immediately, her relatives took Ms. NTA to Quang Nam Central General Hospital for emergency treatment.
Here, the patient was diagnosed and monitored for a stroke. The CT scan of the brain showed that the patient had a large blood vessel blockage in the brain.

The patient was transferred to the DSA room for emergency intervention. The team of doctors from the Cardiovascular Intervention Unit, Stroke Unit, Anesthesia and Resuscitation Department, and Intensive Care and Anti-Poisoning Department performed a procedure to remove the thrombus causing blockage of the left middle cerebral artery, with an intervention time of about 30 minutes.
Immediately after the intervention, the patient was able to move his previously paralyzed limbs and his perception was more alert. One day later, the patient was able to walk, perform daily activities and talk to his family. The patient was discharged after one week of treatment.

According to Dr. Phan Tan Quang, Head of the Cardiology Department, Quang Nam Central General Hospital, stroke is a dangerous condition that can leave serious disabilities or even death if not treated promptly. Treating stroke as soon as possible is a prerequisite.
