On February 27, Hue Central Hospital solemnly organized the 71st anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2026), reviewing the 132-year tradition of formation and development, and expressing gratitude to the team of doctors, officials, and employees who have contributed to the cause of people's health care.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang - Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, along with representatives of departments, agencies, branches, universities and local leaders. On the hospital side were Prof. Dr. Pham Nhu Hiep - Director of the Hospital, along with the Board of Directors and generations of officials.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Pham Nhu Hiep recalled President Ho Chi Minh's teachings in a letter to the health sector 71 years ago, emphasizing the spirit of "Doctors must be like mothers", taking solidarity, loving patients and building the country's medicine as a guiding principle for action.
Currently, the hospital is a special-class unit under the Ministry of Health, leading the country in the number of high-tech services. In 2025, the hospital entered the 9th year of implementing a completely autonomous mechanism, and was also selected by the Ministry of Health as one of the 6 key investment units to develop at the regional and international level; is one of the 3 medical facilities selected to build the Proton Radiation Therapy Center.
In 2025, with a scale of 5,334 actual beds, the hospital received more than 1 million visits (up 17.4%), inpatient treatment over 209,000 patient visits; performed more than 58,000 surgeries and over 10,000 high-tech cardiovascular imaging and intervention cases. Hospital quality score reached 4.41/5.
At the ceremony, 3 collectives and 25 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Minister of Health for the period 2023 - 2024. The hospital also received a bouquet of congratulations from central leaders and Hue City People's Committee.
Hospital leaders affirmed that they will continue to innovate and improve professional quality, towards the goal of building a high-class medical center that meets international standards and meets people's expectations.
