Here are two ways to steam your face at home.
1. Use a facial steamer
- Wash your face with a mild cleanser to remove makeup and dirt from your face.
- Cover your hair with a towel to prevent it from touching your face during the steaming process.
- Fill the steam generator tank with water.
- Sit comfortably and turn on the steam generator. It will take a few minutes for the steam to start coming out.
- Place your face about 15 to 25 cm away from the steam vent. Close your eyes and breathe deeply.
- Steam for 2 to 3 minutes, then rest for 1 minute. And repeat 3 times.
- After steaming, gently pat your face dry with a clean towel and apply moisturizer or serum to lock in moisture.
2. Use a bowl of hot water
- Wash your face with a mild cleanser to remove makeup and dirt from your face.
- Boil water and pour into a large bowl.
- Add a few drops of essential oil or herbs to make facial steaming more effective.
- Before starting the steam bath, cover your hair with a damp towel and raise your head above the bowl of hot water, keeping a safe distance.
- Cover your head and the bowl with a towel to trap the steam. Close your eyes and breathe deeply.
- Steaming your face for about 5 to 10 minutes will help open pores and soften skin.
- After steaming, gently pat your face dry and apply a moisturizer or serum to seal in moisture and help close pores.
