Khanh Hoa - Thanks to the coordination between the district health system and the 115 emergency system, two stroke patients were saved in "golden time".

On December 13, Khanh Hoa Province 115 Emergency Center said that the unit is continuing to monitor and treat 2 stroke patients who have just been successfully intercepted in the area.

Previously, on the morning of December 12, Khanh Son District Medical Center received a stroke patient in the second hour from the time of symptoms.

Meanwhile, the Cam Lam Regional Medical Center also recorded a case of a stroke patient in the second hour.

Immediately after receiving the information, the 115 Emergency Center urgently coordinated with lower-level medical facilities.

Doctor Nguyen Huu Thuong - Department of Stroke, Khanh Hoa General Hospital - directly provided professional support, examined and assessed the patient's condition from a distance and on the spot.

Through careful exploitation of the time of symptoms and paraclinical results, the patient at the Health Center of Cam Lam area was determined to have signs of a stroke at around 4am the same day.

When admitted to the Emergency Department, the patient was in the 6th hour. Doctors diagnosed the patient with a small blood vessel blockage, qualified to be admitted to the Stroke Department for internal medicine treatment, and closely monitored the progress.

In the case at Khanh Son District Medical Center, the patient was determined to have had a stroke in the 4th hour.

After being examined, fully assessed and explained the family's condition, the doctors prescribed treatment with intravare propagative antibodies (IV tPA) - a specific intervention method, requiring precise treatment within the "golden time" framework.

Currently, both patients are being treated and closely monitored at the professional department of Khanh Hoa General Hospital, and their health condition has initially recorded positive progress.

According to doctors, this is a clear demonstration of the effectiveness of standardizing the stroke emergency system: from human resource training, information connection to inter-line coordination.

When the operating process is synchronous, patients can be saved right from the district level, without having to wait for a long-distance transfer, avoiding losing valuable "golden time".

Stroke is a race for life and death over time. Every minute of delay means millions of brain cells are damaged and cannot be repaired. When the health system operates effectively right from the front line, the patient's chance of survival and recovery is significantly improved.
