Can Tho - On March 20, Hoan My Cuu Long Hospital announced that it had just successfully saved a patient's life with a critical cardiac arrest due to acute myocardial infarction.

The case that was saved was Mr. T.D.H (65 years old, Cai Rang district, Can Tho city). 4 hours before, the patient suddenly had severe chest pain, difficulty breathing, and sweating. The patient's family took the patient to a local health station, and the results of the electrocardiogram showed signs of acute myocardial infarction.

Immediately, the family called the out-of-hospital emergency phone number of Hoan My Cuu Long Hospital. Upon receiving the news, the hospital's 916th Emergency Team (home emergency) quickly arrived at the scene. Doctors determined that the patient was at high risk of cardiac arrest and needed to be taken to the hospital immediately.

On the way, the patient suddenly had a cardiac arrest. The emergency team performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation right on the vehicle, including external carrier massage, airway support, and cardiac medication.

Upon arrival at the hospital, the CODE BLUE (cident cardiac arrest, apnea) and CODE STEMI (accurate myocardial infarction emergency) were activated immediately. Doctors performed an electric shock that deforested vibration combined with enhanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation. After 10 minutes of cardiac arrest, the patient's heart beat again.

Immediately after the patient's heart beat again, the doctors performed coronary intervention, temporarily set up a spacer and covered the stent with medicine to open the right coronary artery. The patient was then transferred to the Intensive Care and Anti-Poison (ICU) department for further resuscitation using the commanded hypothermia method, helping to minimize brain damage. After 7 days of active treatment, the patient recovered and was discharged from the hospital.
