On the afternoon of May 16, Hospital 199 (Ministry of Public Security) in Da Nang organized a seminar and launched the Club "Hemostasis - Cardiovascular disease" for patients with high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease with the participation of over 200 delegates, representing local leaders and patients with related diseases who have been examined and treated at the Hospital, as well as being monitored in the community.

According to Dr. CKII Tran Quang Phap - Deputy Director of Hospital 199: Hemorrhage is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease, leading causes of death in the world due to dangerous complications such as: Cerebral aneurysm, heart attack, heart failure... This disease also tends to be accompanied by other risk factors such as: Diabetes, dyslipidemia, obesity... Therefore, the Workshop and launch of the Club "Hemorrhage - Cardiovascular disease" will create opportunities for many patients to have more conditions to interact, share experiences, update new knowledge, gradually raise awareness in the room and treat diseases. Thereby, contributing to better disease management and treatment, while minimizing dangerous complications".
In reality, high blood pressure and cardiovascular diseases have long been considered "silent killers", a health burden not only for Vietnam but also for the whole world. The incidence of the disease is increasing, causing many dangerous complications, seriously affecting the quality of life of patients and being one of the leading causes of death.

At the seminar, experts exchanged, shared experiences, updated the latest advances in the field of cardiovascular and hypertension. Notably, in his presentation report, MSc.BSCKII Huynh Tan Thanh Binh - Department of Cardiology, Hospital 199, said: Information from the World Health Organization (2023), nearly 1.3 billion people aged 30-79 years old in the world with hypertension, 46% do not know if they are hypertension and be treated, only 21% are control of blood pressure. In Vietnam, only 287,000 cases of cardiovascular death in 2019, of which 60% related to blood pressure. The rate of blood pressure control is 13%. If we control blood pressure <140/90 mmHg in 50% of hypertension patients will save 671,000 lives in 2040.

Cardiologist Huynh Tan Thanh Binh recommends to the community and people: actively change your lifestyle by limiting salt and increasing potassium, limiting free sweets, reducing alcohol, quitting smoking, and exercising regularly according to each individual's ability; Treat patients with drugs that are diagnosed with high blood pressure or early pre- expects with high risk of high blood pressure; Regularly measure blood pressure for people aged 18 and over, at least once a year/year (May blood pressure measurement); Respect treatment is an important factor to reduce complications.
Within the framework of the Workshop program, the Club "Hemorrhage - Cardiovascular Disease" was officially launched. Medical experts hope that this will be a place where patients in Da Nang and doctors can meet, share experiences and knowledge about diseases, how to care for and prevent complications, and new treatments. Together, build a united community of patients, support each other, overcome difficulties together, and improve the quality of life.
