On the afternoon of May 13, at the opening ceremony of the exhibition "Images marking the times - the quintessence of Vietnamese traditional medicine", Permanent Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen affirmed: Combining traditional medicine with modern medicine is the key to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment and health care for people.
According to Mr. Tuyen, traditional medicine is the quintessence of national culture, having accompanied the Vietnamese people for centuries. Not just medicine or treatment methods, this is a system of knowledge associated with ethics, philosophy of life and harmony with nature. Today, this system is constantly improving and needs to be developed in parallel with modern scientific achievements.
The exhibition is a testament to the intersection between tradition and modernity. That is not only to preserve but also to promote traditional medicine in the new context - the Deputy Minister said.
The exhibition "Images of the times - the quintessence of Vietnamese traditional medicine" recreates the history of formation, development and achievements of traditional medicine, while providing useful information for experts and the public.
Also within the framework of the event, the Vietnam Academy of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy held a graduation certificate awarding ceremony for new master's and resident doctors, majors I and II. Deputy Minister Do Xuan Tuyen expressed his hope: Today's young medical class needs to maintain passion, a sense of responsibility and constantly be creative to apply traditional medicine effectively, safely, and in line with the needs of modern society.
Whether you work in teaching, research or clinics, the common mission is to care for public health and preserve the value of traditional medicine, Mr. Tuyen emphasized.
