On November 13, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health held a signing ceremony for comprehensive cooperation and professional support between central hospitals and Vung Tau General Hospital (Phuoc Thang Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), period 2025-2028.
A representative of the Department of Health said that according to the development orientation, in the coming time, Vung Tau General Hospital will expand its scale to 500 beds, striving to meet the standards of a Grade I hospital, focusing on developing spearhead specialties suitable for the disease model and geographical location of coastal localities - tourism.
Thereby, the Department of Health has assigned Gia Dinh People's Hospital with a core role, along with 7 specialized hospitals under Ho Chi Minh City, to deploy two key groups of tasks including: professional support, technical transfer; and support in building a modern hospital management model for Vung Tau General Hospital. After 6 months, a preliminary assessment will be held.
In particular, Gia Dinh People's Hospital is responsible for supporting the specialties of Emergency, Resuscitation, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Anesthesia and Resuscitation, Artificial Nephrology, Imaging, Rehabilitation and pathology.
Children's Hospital 2 is in charge of the field of Pediatrics, focusing on Pediatric Resuscitation and Neonatal Medicine. Tu Du Hospital is in charge of Obstetrics and Gynecology, focusing on obstetrics and gynecology emergency care and on-site human resource training. Orthopedic Trauma Hospital supports improving the capacity of injury emergency care. At the same time, Binh Dan, ENT, Eye, Dentistry hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City will provide specialized training from basic to advanced, with in-depth development in accordance with reality.
In addition, Gia Dinh People's Hospital is assigned to support Vung Tau General Hospital in standardizing human resource management, quality management, risk management, accompanying in the development roadmap to become a Grade I hospital; as well as supporting digital transformation towards building a smart hospital.
According to the Department of Health, with the comprehensive support from the Ho Chi Minh City health system and the determination to innovate of the Vung Tau General Hospital team, this place will develop comprehensively, with the capacity to provide emergency care and intensive treatment, and improve regional health services. Thereby, people and tourists in Vung Tau will enjoy high-quality medical services, without having to travel long distances.
