On August 9, Vietnam - Cuba Dong Hoi Friendship Hospital in collaboration with Center II (Vietnam Association for the Relief of Children with Disabilities) and central plastic surgery experts organized a free examination and surgery program for children with disabilities from 0-16 years old.
The program will take place on August 4 and 5, 2025 at Hall 1, Vietnam - Cuba Dong Hoi Friendship Hospital, as a supplementary examination for phase 1 held in Quang Tri in April 2025. Surgical activities will be carried out from August 4-8, 2025 for children who have been screened before, and consult with experts and provide support tools if necessary.
As a result, the program examined more than 350 children and performed surgery on 131 cases of physical disability, burns, eye problems, sexual dysfunction, anorexia, facial and ENT. In addition, 18 children were provided with support tools such as wheelchairs, adjustment shirts, hearing aids; 6 cases were supported to be transferred to higher-level facilities for further treatment.
According to the organizers, the program not only brings treatment and rehabilitation opportunities for disabled children but also contributes to improving the quality of life and integrating into the community for them.
