On May 7, Tan Phu District Hospital said that the unit coordinated with People's Hospital 115 to successfully perform the surgery, saving male patient N.M.H (41 years old) in a serious traffic accident.
Previously, patient H was admitted to the hospital in critical condition, with severe abdominal pain, deep low blood pressure, rapid pulse, and pale skin. Initial diagnoses showed that the patient had hemorrhagic shock, multiple injuries - chest and abdominal injuries - and was monitored for traumatic brain injuries. The emergency team urgently resuscitated him and performed an emergency paraclinical examination.
The ultrasound results at bed showed many free fluids in the abdomen, suspected spleen rupture causing acute blood loss shock. Recognizing the life-threatening situation, Tan Phu District Hospital activated the internal red alert procedure, mobilizing the entire multidisciplinary team.
In parallel with the work of resuscitation, the hospital conducted a CT scan of brain, chest and abdomen. The results showed that the patient broke the spleen of IV-V, broken many lumbar spine, broken ribs on both sides, spilling left pleural blood.
Faced with the patient's critical condition, the hospital quickly activated an inter-hospital red alert, contacted and received emergency support from People's Hospital 115.
In a short time, the staff of People's Hospital 115 were present at Tan Phu District Hospital. The emergency surgery was performed immediately with close coordination between doctors of the two hospitals. The patient was actively resuscitated and underwent emergency surgery. After more than 3 hours of surgery, the patient overcame the critical condition.
After 11 days of treatment, the patient was discharged from the hospital in a stable condition, with good health recovery.
