Curd is rich in vitamins, minerals and fatty acids, especially lactic acid, calcium, vitamin C, zinc, potassium, vitamins A and E, biotin and protein, vitamin B12 and beneficial bacteria, all of which contribute to healthy hair.

Curd helps in solving almost all hair problems and works on all hair types be it dry, oily or normal hair, says Dr Rinky Kapoor, dermatologist and aesthetician at The Esthetic Clinics. The nutrients present in curd benefit hair in many ways like improving the natural beauty of hair, preventing hair loss and balancing the pH level of the scalp.

Additionally, the lactic acid in curd helps nourish and moisturize the scalp. Biotin and vitamin B12 help promote hair growth. Propionibacterium bacteria help reduce dandruff. Vitamin C, zinc and lactic acid help remove dead skin cells from the scalp, adds Dr. Rinky Kapoor.
