Can Tho - fell in the garden, his neck hit a zinc thorn, the 48-year-old man suddenly fell into a drowsiness and became paralyzed in the right half.

According to S.I.S Can Tho International General Hospital, the above case is Mr. T.H.N (48 years old, from Thoi Lai, Can Tho City).

It is known that the patient was discovered by his family falling in the garden, the left neck collided with a zinc thorn wire. After first aid at the local hospital, the doctor noted that the patient was drowsy, unable to speak, and paralyzed in the right side.

The patient underwent a CT scan, the results did not record bleeding, but discovered a blockage of the left left left aorta, corresponding to the neck area that had just been injured. Determined that this was a case of acute cerebral infarction, the patient was urgently transferred to S.I.S Can Tho International General Hospital for intensive intervention.

At the hospital, after examining and re-evaluating the CT image, doctors determined that the patient was more likely to have an acute cerebral infarction due to the secretion of the aorta after the injury.

Dr. Nguyen Luu Giang - Head of DSA said that normal blood vessel walls consist of 3 tight layers. When injured, these layers can peel off, creating a distance between the layers of the machlar walls. The blood flowing at this point causes narrowing of the vessel, forming thrombosis (cular clots). This blood clot can then float to the brain, causing blood vessel blockage and leading to a stroke.

In the patient's case, the imaging of the mach shows a complete blockage of the left internal carotid artery due to a detachment from the outside of the skull. This is a difficult situation in intervention because the doctor had to use a tool to get through the peeling section, approach the blocked area of the blood vessel to pump the blood clot.

"We performed emergency mechanical thromboplasty intervention. Fortunately, after only one smoke, the blood clot was successfully removed. After that, we continued to place a stent to squeeze the dis sheath, helping to almost completely reopen the blood flow.

Currently, the patient is tinh again, although he is still paralyzed in the right side, this is a positive signal in recovery from a severe stroke, Dr. Nguyen Luu Giang informed.
