Successful surgery for a giant blood tumor in the face in Quang Binh

Quang Binh - Doctors at Vietnam - Cuba Dong Hoi Friendship Hospital successfully operated on a giant blood tumor in the patient's face.

On April 29, Dong Hoi Friendship Hospital - Cuba (Quang Binh) informed about the successful surgery for a giant blood tumor on the right cheek of patient Le Thi Doen (67 years old, residing in Phu Thuy, Le Thuy, Quang Binh).

The patient was admitted to the hospital on April 10 with bleeding from a tumor in the right cheek area. According to medical records, she had a congenital blood tumor in the right Economic Esophagus since childhood, had been treated with a fiber injection and many times with a pulse but the tumor still grew rapidly, causing necrosis and severe bleeding.

Through imaging diagnosis and consultation at the hospital with the participation of many specialties (cts of the tonsils, Teeth and fees, ENT, Neurosurgery, Thoracic Surgery - Vasoconstriction...), doctors determined that the patient had an AVM tumor in the right face of the face measuring 15x9 cm, widespread inflammation, compression and erosion of many facial bone structures.

Given the severity and high risk of blood loss, the doctors decided to perform emergency surgery with three tendons: blood vessel Supplementation, tumor removal and reshaping of the damaged area. The surgery lasted 8 hours, using 49 units of blood before, during and after surgery.

Currently, the patient has recovered well, traveling and living normally, improving the quality of life.

The surgery not only marked a professional success but also demonstrated the close and high-level coordination of the hospital's medical staff.
