According to research, besides Da Nang City Rehabilitation Hospital, Hospital 199 (Ministry of Public Security, located in Da Nang) is also a unit that is examining and treating quite effectively for subjects with language disorders. Currently, the Department of Rehabilitation - Occupational Diseases is receiving an average of nearly 100 cases of communication disorders, including both adults and children, of which 65 children are being treated regularly.
Doctor CKI Truong Thi Huong Giang, Deputy Head of the Department of Rehabilitation - Occupational Diseases, said that the Department has promoted the development of speech therapy methods since February 2018. If in 2018 there were only 151 treatment cases, then by 2023 the number skyrocketed to 12,426 cases and in the first 6 months of 2024 there were 5,154 cases, of which autism spectrum disorder accounted for 40%, language development disorder accounted for 20%, and the rest were other related diseases.
To proactively detect early and facilitate treatment, the unit has conducted propaganda in many forms to the community, such as: Organizing talk shows; Community screening in Da Nang and Quang Nam; or Livestreaming the program "Doctor by your side" with many related topics, such as: Awareness of autistic children; Language therapy for people with communication disorders...
More importantly, here, doctors and technicians adhere to the three intervention principles of "Patient- and family-centered intervention - Early detection and early intervention - Based on scientific evidence". Depending on the actual condition, each patient will have a separate, appropriate itinerary. Patients will be directly guided and supported by a technician for 30-45 minutes/session.
