Can Tho City People's Committee has just issued a plan to implement the livestock development strategy in the area in 2025, with a total cost of 9.3 billion VND. Of which, the city budget supports 5.6 billion VND, the remaining 3.68 billion VND is contributed by the people. In addition, it also takes advantage of legal capital sources from other projects, projects and programs.
The city aims to develop a herd of cattle and poultry to reach 16.67 million, an output of 171,303 tons of fresh meat, more than 720 million eggs, 3,372 kg of bird's nest and 12,906 tons of fresh milk. Converting small-scale livestock to farm models, applying high technology, biosafety, towards organic and circular livestock farming, while building a production and consumption chain to increase product value.
Focus on improving the quality of livestock breeds, plan to support people to buy pigs, cows, goats for parents to suffer, 50% of funding from the budget and 50% of counterpart capital. The city has also built 10 livestock and poultry farming models that meet VietGAP standards, helping to improve productivity, product quality and ensure consumer confidence.
