On September 24, the Department of Industry and Trade of Da Nang City organized a workshop to promote the application of e-commerce - a solution for sustainable development of the retail industry in the city.

Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Tran Chi Cuong - said that Da Nang today with a large space and a population of more than 3 million people, opens up many great opportunities for the retail industry. However, in the inevitable trend of e-commerce development, the retail industry in the area faces many difficulties and competitive pressure from many sides.

Also at the workshop, delegates were disseminated information on the orientation for e-commerce development associated with the retail industry in Vietnam; Solutions to strengthen e-commerce control to contribute to ensuring economic security and promoting socio-economic development.

Tax policies related to e-commerce and retail activities; Solutions for management and support of businesses and enterprises in the area; Digital payments and comprehensive digital transformation.

The workshop also introduced the B2C retail e-commerce platform model to promote online business and exports. Listen to share experiences in applying the online - direct sales model (O2O) in retail businesses.

Speaking at the workshop, Director of the Center for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development (Ministry of Industry and Trade) Nguyen Huu Tuan also suggested a number of solutions to sustainably develop the retail industry in Da Nang such as building stores on large e-commerce platforms and city platforms;

Invest in logistics technology and electronic payments; Encourage the promotion of electronic payments; Strengthen the on-site delivery network; promote advertising and promotions on social networks; Improve customer experience; Apply new technologies in business...

To sustainably develop the retail industry in the coming time, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong suggested that the Department of Industry and Trade, as a standing agency, should continue to advise the city.

In particular, the Department of Industry and Trade needs to proactively develop and implement programs and projects to support businesses, cooperatives, business households, and traders in applying e-commerce.

The focus is on organizing practical training activities on digital skills, online business skills as well as guidance on payment, transportation and promotion platforms.

At the same time, it is necessary to closely coordinate with relevant agencies to promptly remove difficulties in mechanisms and policies, creating the most favorable conditions for businesses and people to participate.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Tran Chi Cuong suggested that businesses, cooperatives, production establishments, and traders in markets, supermarkets, shopping malls, and convenience stores should boldly change their business thinking towards digital transformation.
