According to data from the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, the total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in Hanoi in October 2024 is estimated at VND 77.5 trillion (up 2.7% compared to September 2024 and up 9.4% over the same period last year). In the first 10 months of 2024, the total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in the capital reached VND 699.2 trillion (up 10.7% over the same period in 2023).
According to statistics, Hanoi's retail sales of goods in the first 10 months of 2024 reached VND441.4 trillion, accounting for 63.1% of the total and increasing by 10.7%. Of which, precious stones and precious metals increased by 37.1%; Food and foodstuffs increased by 13.7%; wood and construction materials increased by 12.8%; garments increased by 10%; cars increased by 8.3%; gasoline increased by 7.9%; household appliances, tools and equipment increased by 7.7%; means of transport excluding cars increased by 6.1%; other goods increased by 11.7%.
The hotel and restaurant sector's revenue reached VND95.4 trillion, accounting for 13.7% and increasing by 11.1% (accommodation services increased by 32.2%; food and beverage services increased by 8.9%). Tourism revenue reached VND23.4 trillion, accounting for 3.3% and increasing by 40.1%. Other service revenue reached VND139 trillion, accounting for 19.9% and increasing by 6.5%.
In October 2024 alone, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in the city were estimated at VND 77.5 trillion, up 2.7% over the previous month and up 9.4% over the same period last year.
Of which, retail sales of goods reached VND48.5 trillion (up 2.7% and 9.6%); hotel and restaurant revenue reached VND11.2 trillion (up 3.0% and 10.4%); tourism revenue reached VND2.6 trillion (up 5.9% and 32.1%); other service revenue reached VND15.2 trillion (up 1.7% and 4.9%).
A representative of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade said that the increase in retail sales of goods by nearly 11% compared to the same period last year was due to Hanoi promoting promotional and trade promotion programs, which contributed positively to the overall growth of the entire retail industry and consumer service revenue.
