On the morning of July 2, in Hat Lot commune (Son La province), Dong Giao Food Export Joint Stock Company (Doveco) inaugurated the first paper box supply chain for vegetables and fruits with the Swedish-based Tetra Recart packaging solution in Vietnam.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dinh Cao Khue - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dong Giao Food Export Joint Stock Company affirmed: Doveco this year celebrates 70 years - a long, persistent journey, originating from Ninh Binh, going through many fluctuations and ups and downs, to today rise strongly, becoming one of the largest vegetable and fruit processing units in Vietnam.
Over the past 7 decades, Doveco has always been a leading unit in the clean and safe food processing industry. In the new era, in order to meet global demand and optimize costs, we are passionate about investing in a paper box supply chain for vegetables and fruits with Tetra Recart technology.
This is a paper packaging solution that extends its shelf life without preservatives or refrigerants, made from renewable materials (mainly paper), light, recyclable and designed to minimize the impact on the environment throughout the product life cycle.
The high-speed treatment process combined with heat disinfection to preserve the flavors, structure and nutrients with a capacity of 6,000 boxes/hour. Tetra Recart solution helps optimize operation, reduce packaging weight, reduce costs and waste, and meet the increasing demand for convenient, safe, and sustainable products.
"This new line has outstanding advantages such as improving preservation quality, helping the product retain flavor and nutritional value over time. Minimize product errors, automatic operating processes, minimize human factors. Optimizing production costs, saving raw materials, labor and energy. Applying machine AI technology is programmed intelligently, operating flexibly and accurately" - Mr. Khue said.
Speaking at the ceremony, the leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment highly appreciated where where whereco's efforts in inaugurating the line took place when the two-level government had just come into operation, so Son La province and businesses also need to continue research to build raw material areas to comply with the general planning, ensuring the supply chain.
Continue to invest in technology, improve product quality value, meet the increasingly high demand of consumers, and at the same time create conditions for the development of the growing industry in the northern mountainous region - the second largest fruit orchard in the country after the Mekong Delta.
The first Tetra Recart line in Vietnam will officially come into operation at Doveco's factory in Son La province on July 2, 2025. As one of the leading enterprises in the field of agricultural and processing products, where where whereabouts of this technology demonstrates the shared commitment of both sides to promote innovation, sustainable development and increase value for the entire food supply chain.
The new line will package many high-end agricultural products of Vietnam such as sweet corn, pineapple juice, beans... in light packaging, which can be recycled. These products are available at retail channels and distributors will bring them to domestic and foreign consumers.
