Hope to go home for Tet soon
Investing in about 4,000 large-sized crystal and diamond chrysanthemum pots to serve people during Tet, Mr. Tran Quoc Tinh (O Mon district, Can Tho city) said that despite the high production costs, he still tried to keep the price the same as last year to make it easier for people to shop.
With all the effort and expense, this gardener hopes that customers will not wait until the last day but will buy flowers so he can go home early for Tet.
“From the first days on the street until now, I have offered affordable prices so that everyone can have flowers to celebrate Tet. Buying flowers early will help people choose beautiful, satisfactory pots, and I will quickly sell out so they can go home to celebrate New Year's Eve with their families,” said Mr. Tinh.
Since December 14th, purchasing power has increased day by day, making Mr. Nguyen Phung Minh Hung (Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City) quite excited. With his main business being Phalaenopsis orchids imported from Da Lat, Mr. Hung said that he had to prepare 3-4 months in advance to get the best quality flowers to supply the market.
“Phalaenopsis orchids can be displayed for quite a long time. In particular, with the desire to make it easier for customers to access, I also sold out the flowers early, the price of orchids for Tet is currently the same as normal times. Hopefully, everyone will support me so that on the 28th of Tet, I can sell all the flowers and go home to reunite with my family,” Mr. Hung expressed.
No anchoring waiting for price reduction
Instead of waiting until the 29th of Tet to wait for a cheap price, Ms. Nguyen Dan Thanh (Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City) bought flowers on the 23rd of December. Ms. Thanh said that this is the right time to shop because there are many choices.
“The flowers this year are really beautiful and abundant. Perhaps the gardeners must have put a lot of effort into taking care of them, so when I saw the reasonable price, I bought them right away, not waiting until the 29th of Tet. If I waited until the last market, I would not only lose the Tet atmosphere but also not be able to choose beautiful flowers because they might all be bought,” Ms. Thanh shared.
Also shopping for Tet from December 24th and 25th, Ms. Nguyen Ngo Trang Thuy (Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City) noticed that this year's flowers and ornamental plants are more expensive than previous years. However, she is still satisfied with the Tet flower baskets she bought because the quality is very good. According to Ms. Thuy, the price of flowers goes hand in hand with the quality, if you can consider your finances and choose wisely, you can still buy beautiful flower baskets that are affordable.
“In recent years, I have noticed that by the last day of the market, Tet flowers are no longer beautiful and the discounts are not significant. When we celebrate Tet, we also need to give Tet to our gardeners, so my family often chooses to buy flowers and ornamental plants from the 24th and 25th of the 12th lunar month. By buying early, I can choose beautiful flower pots to decorate the house so that the Tet atmosphere fills the yard,” said Ms. Thuy.
