On the afternoon of January 29, at the business meeting to celebrate the Party and Binh Ngo Spring 2026 at An Nghiep Industrial Park (IP), Mr. Tran Ngoc Hung - Member of the City Party Committee, Head of the Management Board of Export Processing and Industrial Zones (EPZs&IPs) of Can Tho City said that in 2025, businesses in IPs and concentrated industrial clusters will achieve a total industrial production value of about 94,770 billion VND, accounting for about 52% of the city's total industrial production value.
Mr. Hung informed - currently the Management Board is assigned to manage 13 IPs, including 9 operating IPs, 1 IP under construction of infrastructure and 3 IPs in the compensation and site clearance phase. In addition, the Board also manages 3 concentrated industrial clusters, Song Hau Power Center and Song Hau Industrial Park Operation Center.
Accumulated to date, IPs have attracted 314 businesses with 381 investment projects, including 46 foreign investment projects. Total registered capital reached more than 10,290 million USD, estimated realized capital is about 4,913 million USD.
The industrial production situation in the area continues to recover positively, especially in the processing and manufacturing sector with key industries such as food processing, consumer goods production, pharmaceuticals and construction materials.
Along with that, import value reached about 871.98 million USD, an increase of 43.65% compared to the previous year; export value reached more than 2,283 million USD, an increase of 5.53%. Enterprises in industrial parks contributed nearly 4,800 billion VND to the state budget, an increase of about 3% compared to 2024. Production and business activities have created more jobs for more than 6,000 workers in 2025, bringing the total number of workers working in industrial parks to 96,755 people.
An Nghiep IP alone currently has 51 operating enterprises. In 2025, this IP created an industrial production value of more than 16,952 billion VND, an increase of about 17% compared to 2024, accounting for 17.88% of the total production value of IPs. At the same time, it contributed about 972 billion VND to the state budget and created jobs for nearly 25,000 workers.
Providing information on the orientation for 2026, Mr. Le Cong Ly - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Management Board of Export Processing Zones & Industrial Parks of Can Tho City said that the Management Board will continue to innovate in coordination and companionship with businesses, taking practical efficiency as a measure of action.
According to Mr. Ly, Can Tho City will focus on implementing key infrastructure projects such as Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway, Tran De Port, Tran De Sea Economic Zone, creating motivation to attract investment and industrial development in the 2026–2030 period. Along with that, the Management Board will continue to review and remove difficulties for businesses, towards green and sustainable production and taking care of workers' lives.
Leaders of the Management Board also requested businesses to pay attention to labor, social security, fire prevention and fighting, law compliance, environmental protection and strictly implement information and reporting regimes.
