On September 7, the Dak Lak Durian Trade Cooperation Forum with Chinese enterprises took place in Dak Lak province.
According to the Durian Association of Dak Lak province, the province currently has nearly 40,000 hectares of durian, with an estimated output in 2025 of about 400,000 tons.
This is the largest concentrated production area in the country, with hundreds of growing area codes and packaging facilities licensed for export to China.

At the forum, Chinese and Vietnamese enterprises shared each other's potential and strengths. At the same time, they expressed their desire to cooperate to sustainably export durian to China.
The businesses of both sides also recommended many issues to the authorities to create an open legal corridor, as a bridge to promote effective cooperation...
Mr. Nong Duc Lai - Trade Advisor of the Vietnamese Embassy in China - shared: "The working trip aims to connect Chinese enterprises with localities and Vietnamese enterprises, especially those with strengths in agricultural products.
From there, Chinese enterprises will have a visual view of production reality, product quality and the most objective and complete management of growing areas".
According to Mr. Lai, for the durian industry to develop sustainably, many factors are needed. In particular, food quality and hygiene and safety when imported to China are mandatory requirements that Vietnamese enterprises must strictly comply with. If heavy metals, O- gold, etc. cannot be controlled, it will be difficult for agricultural products to develop sustainably in the Chinese market.
Mr. Lai also recommended that Vietnamese enterprises need to diversify their products. In particular, units not only export fresh fruits, but also have to process them deeply to increase value.
