Control from "root" to "top
In the days leading up to the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, the atmosphere at food production and business establishments in Da Nang city became more urgent than ever. The City Food Safety Management Board (FSMB) has deployed large-scale inter-sectoral inspections. The focus of this peak period is to strictly control production and business establishments and major food circulation points.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuc, Deputy Head of Da Nang Food Safety Inspection Department, said: "In this Tet Nguyen Dan epidemic inspection, the inspection content focuses on the origin, invoices and documents, as well as all stages from preliminary processing, processing, preservation, transportation and circulation. For pre-packaged products, we pay special attention to checking preservation conditions, labels and label information in accordance with the law.
The inspection teams went deep into each processing area, from meat grinders, fresh food pre-processing areas to cold storage warehouses. Not only stopping at checking dossiers, functional officials also directly took food samples to quickly check safety indicators right on the spot.
The inspection is not limited to essential items such as meat, fish, vegetables, but also extends to typical Tet products such as confectionery, beer and dried nuts.

Proactively source goods, ensuring "clean in, clean out
At GO! Da Nang supermarket, the shopping atmosphere has begun to become bustling. To ensure good service to people's needs, this unit has completed the import plan from 3 to 4 months ago, helping to stabilize supply and avoid price fever and shortage.
Ms. Vo Thi Thu Thuy, Director of GO! Da Nang supermarket, shared that food safety and hygiene is a daily task, but during Tet, this requirement is further enhanced.
We review that all suppliers must have sufficient prestige and legal capacity. When goods arrive at the warehouse, the number of import control staff is doubled or tripled to control each product. At the shelves, staff are responsible for daily control according to the import before export (FIFO) rule to ensure freshness and expiration date of the product," Ms. Thuy said.
In fresh food areas, people can easily trace the origin via QR codes or view clear price lists. Processes from weighing and packaging to preliminary processing at counters are strictly monitored. The combination of the proactiveness of businesses and the close supervision of management agencies has created a solid "barrier" to protect consumers.
