On August 12, in Hanoi, Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and Qualcomm Incorporated Group (Qualcomm) signed a strategic cooperation agreement, aiming to establish the VNPT - Qualcomm Excellence Center (VNPT - Qualcomm Excellence Center - VQEC).
VQEC will operate according to the Original Design co-development model based on Qualcomm's core technology, led by VNPT.
According to the agreement, VNPT and Qualcomm will cooperate comprehensively in many areas of cutting-edge technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), new generation 5G/6G mobile network, Internet of Things (IoT), edge Computing, AI computing equipment and new generation network equipment.
VQEC is a unit that implements research, product development, technology transfer, high-quality human resource training and promotes the commercialization of technology solutions based on the Qualcomm platform, contributing to bringing Vietnam deeper into the global technology value chain.

These fields are all core technologies, playing a key role in VNPT's development strategy to 2030, vision 2035.
Approaching and mastering these technologies not only helps VNPT improve competitiveness, realizing VNPT's strategic goals in the transition process from telecommunications enterprises (Telco) to digital technology enterprises (Techco) but also contributes to affirming Vietnam's position on the world technology map.
According to the plan, VQEC will officially launch in October 2025. This will be the first center in Vietnam to operate according to the Original Design co-development model based on Qualcomm's core technology, led by VNPT.
The establishment of VQEC not only brings direct benefits to VNPT and Qualcomm but also has strategic significance for the Vietnamese technology industry.
This is the first time a Vietnamese technology enterprise has taken a leading role in the original design co-development model with a global technology corporation in Southeast Asia. This helps Vietnam enhance its position in the global technology value chain, while opening up opportunities for cooperation with the world's leading technology corporations.
