Designer Do Manh Cuong introduced a new collection called "Blue Wave", opening the Vietnam International Fashion Week 2024 held in Hanoi.
This is the 18th time this event has taken place and the 7th time in Hanoi. However, this is the first time that designer Do Manh Cuong has agreed to participate.
Inspired by the waves, the collection was spread to imply that each person can shine in their own way. In this show, designer Do Manh Cuong introduced 100 designs, performed by 100 models. This is also a record number for a collection introduced within the framework of this event in the past 10 years.
This collection is divided into 3 main parts: The first part is the applied designs with the spirit of "New Gen" with a youthful, unique and individual style; The second part is the minimalist outfits aiming for the utmost simplicity possible; The third part is the designs following maximalism - maximalism in design.
Designer Do Manh Cuong is inspired by the stylish and unconventional fashionistas in major fashion capitals around the world such as Paris (France) and New York (USA). At the same time, he also hopes to awaken the unique personality within each woman, encouraging beauty beyond the usual framework.
For women's clothing, the designer focuses on unique combinations of short skirts - jackets - boots; flared jeans with printed patterns - fringed shirts; skirts - T-shirts - cargo jackets; crop tops - jackets - skirts - sneakers...
With men's clothing, designer Do Manh Cuong exploits the liberal, masculine style in the way he dresses. He combines T-shirts, knitted shirts with long pants, shorts with outer jackets with the highlight being large box pockets. Do Manh Cuong's obvious strengths are cutting and sewing techniques, creating precise shapes; creating flowers, 3D shapes; mixing and matching colors...
Notably in this show, designer Do Manh Cuong's mother - Mrs. Ha Minh (64 years old) - appeared on the catwalk.
