The UOB Heartbeat Run is an annual volunteering and fundraising event organised by UOB in 18 markets globally where the bank has a presence. The proceeds are donated to charities around the world to help improve the lives of vulnerable children and communities.
In Vietnam, the mass running day took place on October 19, 2024, with more than 1,500 people participating in the 3km, 5km, and 10km distances in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.
Following the success of the online races over the past four years, this year’s event included an online challenge for UOB employees and their families over a period of more than two months from 19 July 2024. In total, participants from the online challenge and the group run day completed over 12,000 km of running/walking. For every km achieved, UOB Vietnam committed to donate VND20,000 to the UOB Heartbeat Fund in Vietnam.
In addition to the Bank’s donation, many fundraising activities have been organised by UOB Vietnam staff over the past 3 months: fundraising concerts, UOB Heartbeat T-shirts and tote bags sales, and a charity bazaar held at the rally run day.
