This is considered a practical action when businesses join hands with the project "Planting 1 billion trees", aiming at the large and long-term goal of the country.
In phase 1, J&T Express planted 15,000 new Melaleuca trees, helping to expand 1 hectare of Melaleuca forest in U Minh Thuong National Park, Kien Giang Province. After that, the brand coordinated with the Center for Natural Resources and Environment to monitor and care for the newly planted Melaleuca forest for 3 years to ensure the trees grow and develop well.
Through the activities, J&T Express wishes to join hands in increasing forest coverage; contributing to responding to climate change and rising sea levels, forming green lungs for Vietnam, restoring the Melaleuca forest ecosystem on saline soil in the Mekong Delta, embellishing the U Minh historical relic site, bringing clean air, creating green lungs for the environment.
Mr. Doan Truong Giang - Deputy Director of the Center for Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment said: “Climate change affects ecosystems, biodiversity, human environment and directly affects people's lives. There are many ways to respond and adapt to climate change, of which planting trees to protect the environment in general and protect specific ecosystems such as in U Minh Thuong National Park is urgent. We appreciate the spirit of cooperation between J&T Express and U Minh Thuong National Park in planting and developing more Melaleuca forests (melaleuca), helping to restore and protect the peat swamp forest ecosystem from decline and loss caused by climate change and past forest fires”.
J&T Express representative, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Strategy Director of J&T Express Vietnam shared: "J&T Express is always committed to bringing the best value to customers and the community through service quality and "green" efforts in business activities, demonstrating a sense of social responsibility towards common issues of the country and the environment".
