On September 13, in Nha Trang ward, Khanh Hoa province, the Tobacco Harm Prevention Fund - Ministry of Health organized a campaign to strengthen the implementation of a smoke-free environment at restaurants, hotels and public places.
According to Mr. Ha Anh Duc - Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management; Director of the Tobacco Harm Prevention Fund, the rate of tobacco use among men in recent times has decreased from 45.3% (in 2015) to 38.9% (in 2023).
However, the rate of passive smoking at restaurants and eateries is still quite high at 68.6%. At coffee shops, the drop in refreshment is 54.3% and at hotels is 44.5%.
The campaign aims to build a smoke-free environment in hotels, restaurants, public places, and protect public health.
The representative of the Ministry of Health called on restaurants, hotels and service establishments in Khanh Hoa province to implement a smoke-free environment and consider this a standard for business service quality.
Let each citizen become a "ambassador" to remind and build a smoke-free common space...
Responding to the launching ceremony of the campaign, 200 hotels, restaurants, and cafes in Khanh Hoa have hung and posted signs "No smoking".
