An Giang - In the first 9 months of 2025, the province had 275,574 people participating in social insurance, more than 3.2 million people participating in health insurance.

On October 23, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho - Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee for the Implementation of Social Insurance (SI) and Health Insurance (HI) policies, chaired a meeting to listen to the report on the Summary of work in the first 9 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last months of 2025 on the implementation of social insurance and HI policies in the province.

According to the report, in the first 9 months of 2025, An Giang province had 275,574 people participating in social insurance, accounting for 14.96% of the aging workforce. Of which: Compulsory social insurance 232,895 people (reaching 94.79% of the plan); Voluntary social insurance 42,679 people (52.90% of the plan).

The number of people participating in health insurance is more than 3.2 million people, accounting for 88% of the population (the target assigned by the government is 95%). Accumulated social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance revenue by the end of September 2025 was over VND 7,215 billion, reaching 73.37%, an increase of VND 946 billion over the same period last year.

The total number of people receiving social insurance and unemployment insurance benefits is 103,921. The rate of social insurance and unemployment benefits paid through accounts is high: monthly pension and social insurance benefits are paid at 27,496/35,360 people, reaching 77.76% of the total number of beneficiaries; one-time social insurance benefits are paid at 43,793/44,072 people, reaching 99.37% of the total number of beneficiaries; unemployment benefits are paid at 57,838/57,895 people, reaching 99. 90% of the total number of beneficiaries.

Over 6.2 million visits to medical facilities for medical examination and treatment, an increase of 479,549 visits (an increase of 8.37%) with the amount spent on health insurance for medical examination and treatment of over VND 3,014 billion, an increase of over VND 422 billion (an increase of 16.3%) over the same period in 2024.

As of September 30, 2025, the total expenditure on health insurance examination and treatment in the whole province exceeded the expected expenditure of 15.62% in the first 9 months of 2025 and accounted for 86.72% of the expected expenditure on health insurance examination and treatment for the whole year of 2025 (VND 3,014/3,476 billion); the remaining expenditure by the end of 2025 is expected to be VND 461 billion.

The authentication of participants' information with the National Population Database reached a rate of 99.31%. All 377 medical examination and treatment facilities conducted citizen identification searches with 12.8 million searches, of which over 11 million were successful, ensuring synchronous data and effectively supporting medical examination and treatment.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho acknowledged and commended the efforts and sense of responsibility of departments, branches, unions, People's Committees of communes, wards, special zones and members of the Steering Committees at all levels in implementing social insurance and health insurance policies in the past time. Advisory and coordination work is increasingly tight; the proportion of participants continues to increase; social insurance and health insurance regimes and policies are resolved promptly, contributing to stabilizing people's lives.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho requested departments, branches and localities to focus strongly, synchronously deploy solutions, and assign responsibility to leaders in direction. At all levels, sectors, and members of the Steering Committee to enhance and raise awareness of social insurance and health insurance are two pillar policies in the social security policy system of the Party and State.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho requested the Provincial Social Insurance (Standing Agency of the Steering Committee) to preside over and coordinate with departments and localities to implement plans to develop social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance participants; urgently coordinate with relevant sectors to advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Provincial People's Council to issue a resolution to support additional voluntary social insurance and health insurance contributions for some groups other than the central budget regulations, and merge current resolutions to apply higher support levels for people to benefit more.

Closely coordinate with the Tax and Finance sectors to review business and labor data to develop participants in compulsory social insurance and health insurance; at the same time, work with the Department of Home Affairs, Police, Inspectorate, Tax to strengthen inspection, examination, and strictly handle violating units.

The Department of Home Affairs strengthens inspection and supervision of signing labor contracts and paying social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance at employers; promptly advises the Provincial People's Committee to direct the handling of violations.
