On June 3, the People's Court of Hue City opened a first-instance trial of defendant Nguyen Don Quoc Huy (born in 1984, residing in Phu Xuan District, Hue City).
According to the indictment, at about 5:00 p.m. on December 17, 2024, Huy contacted "Nhan" (real name and address unknown) to ask to buy 3 million VND of pink pills. The drugs were then delivered to Huy's house.
At 8:40 p.m. the same day, Huy was in the bedroom when the police came to check and discovered Huy illegally possessing drugs.
The police seized a plastic bag containing 183 pink tablets and 2 blue tablets.
Huy said that these drugs were pink phien, bought for use.
After deliberation, the panel sentenced defendant Nguyen Don Quoc Huy to 5 years and 6 months in prison for the crime of "Illegal possession of narcotics".
