Previously, on November 19, the Crime Prevention and Investigation Team on Social evils and Human Trafficking - Criminal Police Department caught Nguyen Van Thang (born in 1992, residing in Nam Dong Ward, Hai Phong) red-handed while transporting a box of 36 fireworks with launch tubes home. Nguyen Van Thang confessed that he bought the above fireworks from Bui Duc Son (born in 1986, currently residing in Minh Thanh village, Lai Khe commune, Hai Phong) for 16.2 million VND.
Through initial investigation, it was determined that Bui Duc Son bought fireworks from a person in Vietnam in the border area of Vietnam - Laos near Lao Bao border gate to gather at the Son house area where he was residing with the purpose of selling them to customers in need to make a profit.
At Bui Duc Son's house, the police seized 392 boxes of fireworks with a total weight of 443.57 kg. Currently, the Criminal Police Department has issued a decision to temporarily detain Bui Duc Son for the act of Trading in prohibited goods, Nguyen Van Thang for the act of Arresting for prohibited goods for further handling according to regulations.
