At 11:15 a.m. on May 28, at 1/143 Truong Chinh Street, Kien An District, Hai Phong, the Patrol and Control Working Group of An Hung Traffic Police Station discovered a subject driving a motorbike 16M7-1864 with suspicious signs.
The working group stopped the vehicle for inspection. Thereby, a package of Thang Long brand cigarettes was discovered in the driver's right pants pocket in front of him, inside was a white paper package containing white powder, suspected to be drugs.
Through on-site investigation, the subject confessed to being Nguyen Van Thao (born in 1983, residing in Van Dau ward, Kien An district, Hai Phong). Thao admitted that the paper package containing the above white powder was heroin, purchased at Tran Nguyen Han Alley, Le Chan District for 50,000 VND for use.
The working group made a record of the incident and handed over the subject and the evidence to the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Hai Phong City Police for further investigation and handling according to the provisions of law.
