On December 30, information from Nghe An Provincial Police said that the Department of Investigation Police on Crimes of Corruption, Economy and Smuggling, chaired by the Provincial Police, coordinated with related forces to arrest a subject for illegally storing and manufacturing firecrackers, seizing 55kg of firecrackers, including 30kg of homemade firecrackers.
On December 26, 2024, the working group of the Department of Investigation Police on Corruption, Economic Crimes and Smuggling presided over and coordinated with the Binh Hop Commune Police, Tan Ky District (Nghe An) to arrest Pham Van Tam (born in 1984), residing in Hamlet 5, Binh Hop Commune for the act of storing and illegally manufacturing firecrackers.
The seized exhibits included 3 sets of 9-explosive fireworks; 9 sets of 49-explosive fireworks, 1 string of homemade explosive fireworks, 42 homemade explosive fireworks, 4 bags of homemade explosive ball fireworks with a total weight of 55kg of explosive fireworks; 2kg of explosives, 5.4m of homemade slow-burning wire, and many materials and tools used to make fireworks.
At the Investigation Agency, the subject confessed that from April 2024, Pham Van Tam bought fireworks from abroad for use. Previously, in March 2024, the subject learned how to make fireworks online, then ordered raw materials to make fireworks, and made fireworks to use during holidays and Tet.
The case is currently under further investigation and will be handled in accordance with the law.
