On February 7, Hon Dat Commune Police said that they had just coordinated with the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Provincial Police to arrest wanted subject Son Truong, born in 1995 (residing in Chom Sao hamlet, Hon Dat commune) for the act of fraud and appropriation of property.
Previously, from December 1, 2023 to January 10, 2024, Son Truong and his accomplices made a contract to sell rice with an area of 660 cong (referring to other people's rice), to receive deposits from 4 victims, appropriating a total amount of 310 million VND. Son Truong received 40 million VND from fraud. Through the process of verification and clarification, the Provincial Police Investigation Agency initiated a case, prosecuted the defendants related to the case, Son Truong hid from his residence to evade the summons of the investigating agency.
On January 22, 2026, the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Provincial Police issued Decision No. 535/QDTN-VPCQCSĐT on the wanted status of defendant Son Truong for the act of fraud and appropriation of property. Through grasping the situation, Hon Dat Commune Police coordinated with the Investigation Police force of the Provincial Police to discover and arrest Son Truong who was hiding in Hon Dat commune.
Currently, Hon Dat Commune Police handed over the subject to the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Provincial Police to continue investigating and handling according to the provisions of law.
