Arrest of fishing boat carrying 75m3 of liquid suspected of being DO oil of unknown origin

The authorities have just discovered a fishing boat transporting about 75m3 of liquid suspected to be DO oil without invoices or documents, with an estimated value of 1.3 billion VND.

In order to carry out a peak period of attack and suppression of smuggling and illegal transportation crimes across the border, counterfeit goods, counterfeit goods and goods of unknown origin, the Anti-smuggling Investigation Department has increased the implementation of customs control measures along the entire route and key areas.

During the patrol and control of the sea area from Da Nang to Ninh Thuan, the authorities discovered and arrested a fishing boat illegally transporting about 75m3 of liquid suspected to be DO oil, without invoices and documents proving legal origin, with an estimated value of about 1.3 billion VND.

At 10:30 a.m. on May 29, 2025, at coordinates 11017N, 109002E in the sea area of Ninh Thuan province, Team 2 - Anti-smuggling Investigation Department presided over and coordinated with the Department of Crime Prevention - Coast Guard Region 3 Command to inspect the fishing boat with registration number TH-91658-TS owned by Mr. Le Van Dung.

Through inspection, the authorities discovered about 75m3 of liquid suspected to be DO oil contained in the two nearest cargo tubes in front of the cabin. The captain confessed that all the goods on the ship did not have invoices or documents proving their legal origin.

The case is currently being further verified and handled by the Customs authorities in accordance with the provisions of law.
