On January 22, the People's Committee of Trung Son commune (Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province) confirmed that the locality had just issued a notice to find relatives for the abandoned girl.
Before that, at about 1:00 a.m. the same day, Mr. Nguyen The Mau (residing in An Dong village, Trung Son commune) heard a baby crying and went to look for it.
When he went out the gate, Mr. Mau discovered a baby girl left in a pink plastic basket. Inside the basket, there was a piece of paper, with the content: "I hope the family will adopt my child. I am a student, because of a foolish moment, I... The baby girl is healthy and normal, 5 days old. I am sorry, my daughter, please forgive me."
Mr. Mau reported the incident to the People's Committee of Trung Son commune. Currently, Mr. Mau's family is temporarily taking care of the child.
