On September 19, Major General Vu Quoc An, member of the Standing Committee, Deputy Political Commissar of the Border Guard, visited and presented gifts to officers and soldiers of Border Guard stations on duty to protect sovereignty, border security, and sea and islands in the special zone of Phu Quoc, An Giang province.
Major General Vu Quoc An listened to the commanders of the units report the results, determinations and efforts of the unit's officers and soldiers in protecting the sovereignty and security of the border and islands in recent years. The Deputy Political Commissar acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the unit. Requesting that in the coming time, the Party Committee and the Command of the An Giang Provincial Border Guard continue to pay attention to and focus on leading the synchronous implementation of Border Guard work measures. Direct units to strictly manage areas, border gates, and seaports, strengthen patrolling, control, and effective combat against all types of crimes.

During the visit, Major General Vu Quoc An also informed the commanders of the units about the situation in the border area and island areas between Vietnam and neighboring countries in the past year.
