Vietnam Post ensures mail reaches recipients before Tet

Nhật Nguyên |

To meet maximum customer demand and deliver goods in time for the Lunar New Year 2025, Vietnam Post has proactively optimized production, applied automation technology, and focused all its efforts on stably providing postal and delivery services nationwide.

The Lunar New Year 2025 is approaching, leading to an increase in the demand for receiving and sending domestic and international goods. The volume of postal items through the Vietnam Post system has increased by about 25-30% compared to normal days and increased by 10% compared to the same period last year. Vietnam Post has implemented a series of synchronous measures to ensure that all postal items are delivered safely and quickly to recipients before Tet.

Anticipating the increase in cargo volume, since November 2024, Vietnam Post has worked with road, rail, and air transport partners to improve transportation and service capacity to meet the demand for cargo delivery during the Lunar New Year, even in the event that cargo volume increases by 30-50%.

Based on close monitoring of daily cargo flow, Vietnam Post flexibly adjusts labor arrangements in each shift, increases mail trips, optimizes transportation capacity, connectivity, etc., closely following the actual situation to ensure fast and stable flow, and absolutely does not leave any backlog of goods.

In addition, at each stage, Vietnam Post pays special attention to good quality control, strengthens the inspection of packages during delivery between departments, and compares mail items in the mail to ensure that no errors occur at any stage.

With the principle of delivering all goods within the shift and within the day, the units have proactively arranged appropriate delivery forces and postmen for each delivery route, organizing delivery on Saturdays, Sundays and outside of business hours, especially in areas with large postal output, to ensure that goods are delivered accurately to recipients in the shortest time.

All mail items delivered to the Post Office on January 27, 2025 (December 28) will be delivered to the recipient, no later than 12:00 noon on January 28, 2025 (December 29).

The central post offices of provinces/cities will be open to serve people and customers until January 27, 2025 (December 28) and reopen from January 31, 2025 (the 3rd day of Tet).

District post offices, and/or Commune Post Offices - Culture, based on the actual situation, customs and practices of each specific locality, the Provincial and City Post Offices will publicly announce opening hours and arrange the number of transaction staff in the direction of optimizing customer service efficiency.

For international delivery services, according to the Customs' Tet holiday schedule (from January 25, 2025 to February 2, 2025), international postal items during this time will be slower than the announced total time target.

Activities related to COD payments will be suspended from January 28, 2025 (29th day of Tet) to January 30, 2025 (2nd day of Tet), and will return to normal operations from January 31, 2025 (3rd day of Tet).

Vietnam Post reminds people and customers to proactively send goods and gifts as soon as possible, especially for recipients such as agencies, businesses, organizations, schools, industrial parks, etc. to be delivered before the holidays. For special items, liquids, fragile items, dry goods with short shelf life, customers need to discuss carefully with Post Office staff to get advice on packaging, time and shipping options.
