For young startups, carefully evaluating the market and having a clear direction are essential to building a successful brand.

The talk show “Building a brand right from the starting line” within the framework of Tuoi Tre Startup Award 2024, taking place on November 10, at the Youth Cultural House (District 1), attracted a large number of young people who are passionate about startups. Here, they listened to the sharing and practical experiences of entrepreneurs and managers.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietravel said that building a brand to gain a foothold in the market is extremely difficult. According to him, up to now, Vietnam still does not have a brand that is used by the whole world, while many other countries have had it for a long time.

From the case of his business, Mr. Ky emphasized that to build a successful brand, it is necessary to carefully evaluate one's own capacity, see market trends, social needs, and have a clear direction to avoid getting lost. Once everything is clearly defined, young entrepreneurs need to "devote themselves to reaching the destination".

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thang - Deputy General Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trading Cooperatives (Saigon Co.op) emphasized the sustainability factor when building a brand from the beginning. He said that when a brand has entered the Co.op system, it is only the beginning step. To be successful, businesses need to continuously improve their products.

“Startup products must be different in the market, creative, innovative, have the personality of the entrepreneur, and bring value to the community,” Mr. Thang shared.

With nearly 15 years of supporting young entrepreneurs, Ms. Le Thi Tuong Vy - Deputy Director of the Youth Startup Support Center (BSSC) said that since its establishment, BSSC has clearly defined its model and method of operation.

According to Ms. Vy, with clear orientation from the beginning, start-ups will go in the right direction and persevere with their set goals. To support young start-ups, in recent times, BSSC and many other units have had many connection programs so that newly established businesses have the opportunity to learn from units that have established a position in the market.
