On January 23, Mr. Tran Phuoc Hien inspected the actual situation of coastal erosion at Sa Can estuary, Tan Hy 1 village and Son Tra village, Binh Dong commune, Binh Son district.
According to the report of Binh Son District People's Committee, the impact of prolonged cold rain has increased the level of coastal erosion in the Sa Can estuary area, in Tan Hy 1 village and Son Tra village with a length of more than 500m. Some locations have eroded and eroded more than 10m inland; the coast is close to people's houses. The erosion has damaged many houses, threatening the lives, land and houses of people living in the above area.

To cope with coastal erosion, people have proactively reinforced with bamboo stakes, stone banks, and built retaining walls with boulders. Local authorities have zoned off dangerous areas; regularly monitored high tides, high waves, storms and floods to promptly inform people. At the same time, they have prepared plans to evacuate people when there is a risk of insecurity due to high tides, rising sea levels, and high waves.
