On the afternoon of July 23, 2025, in Da Nang, Da Nang International Airport (HKQT) and Military Hospital 17 (Military Region V) signed the Regulation on coordination in aviation health work. This is an important step forward to professionalize and improve the capacity to respond to medical emergencies at one of the largest airports in the country.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Phan Kieu Hung - Director of Da Nang International Airport, Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Duc Bac - Director of Military Hospital 17, along with representatives of the Central Airports Authority, the Da Nang Center for Disease Control (CDC) and related units.
The content of the regulations establishes a comprehensive cooperation framework, not just stopping at providing emergency care and transporting victims. The two sides will regularly exchange information, coordinate training, and practice emergency plans. The scope of medical support is expanded to all subjects at the airport, including passengers, relatives and all staff. Notably, Military Hospital 17 will be the unit that receives and preserves the victim's body in special cases, ensuring a professional and humane treatment process.
Regarding responsibility assignment, Da Nang International Airport plays the role of commanding the scene, coordinating vehicles, human resources and ensuring that medical forces can access the incident site as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, Military Hospital 17 is responsible for its expertise, deploying a team of doctors, performing emergency care, screening and transporting the victim to a suitable treatment facility.
Signing the coordination regulations not only helps minimize risks and damage when incidents occur but also contributes to strongly strengthening the trust of passengers and airlines in operational capacity and safety at Da Nang International Airport.
