At around 4:00 p.m. on June 29, a serious fire broke out in Nhon village, Chieng Dong commune, Yen Chau district, Son La province. The burned house belongs to Mr. Lo Van Tuoi, born in 1975, a wooden three-story stilt house with an area of about 40m2, built in 2000.
According to the leader of Chieng Dong commune, at the time of the fire, Mr. Tuoi's whole family was working in the fields, with no one at home. Before that, the family used a wood stove to cook breakfast. In the afternoon, the fire suddenly broke out and spread quickly.

People in the village discovered the fire and tried to participate in extinguishing the fire. However, because the house was made of wood and contained many flammable items, the fire spread quickly and completely burned down the house and all the assets inside, including about 40 million VND in cash, two taels of gold, household items, the total estimated damage was nearly 200 million VND. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
The initial cause was determined to be that the firewood stove was not completely extinguished after cooking, and it clung to surrounding furniture, causing a fire.
Immediately after the incident, the authorities of Chieng Dong commune and the Management Board of Nhom village coordinated to mobilize organizations and people to support the cleaning of the scene, collect remaining assets, and temporarily arrange for the victim's family to stay at relatives' houses.
