At the meeting, the leaders in charge of the work, the commander, and the Waterway Traffic Police Team No. 2 reported the situation and results of the implementation of the unit's task of ensuring traffic order and safety (TTATG) at 43.5km of the Red River in the old Ha Nam province.
Accordingly, on the river, the unit's area of responsibility, on average, there are 50 - 60 watercraft transporting goods every day; mainly raw materials such as stone, cement, coal, sand. The river also has a ferry terminal, a sand mine, and 20 construction material storage facilities.
With the motto of prevention as the main goal, in recent times, the Waterway Traffic Police Team No. 2, Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police has proactively implemented many specific plans and solutions; both combining propaganda for transportation businesses, vehicle drivers and people when participating in in inland waterway traffic to strictly comply with regulations; patrol, control, and resolutely handle violations of alcohol concentration, transporting goods over the line with safe water markings, and illegally exploiting sand.
During the working process and field inspection on the Red River, Colonel Nguyen Minh Hai - Deputy Director of Ninh Binh Provincial Police acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the Waterway Traffic Police Team No. 2, the Provincial Police Traffic Police Department and related units in performing the task of ensuring waterway traffic safety.
The Deputy Director of the Provincial Police also requested the Waterway Traffic Police Team No. 2, the Provincial Police Traffic Police Department and related units to continue to synchronously deploy measures, solutions, and plans to ensure good traffic safety on the Red River in particular; the Day River, Ninh Co River flowing through the province in general.
The work of ensuring traffic safety on inland waterways must closely follow the direction of the Ministry of Public Security and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in Directive No. 01, dated July 28, 2025 on strengthening the implementation of urgent solutions to ensure traffic safety; limiting and reducing traffic accidents and ensuring public order and urban civilization in the province.
