In order to minimize the damage caused by storm No. 1, Da Nang has proactively implemented response measures, focusing on preventing environmental incidents.

On June 12, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Da Nang issued an urgent dispatch requesting relevant units to proactively deploy measures to respond to environmental incidents. This unit requires localities and units to proactively review and assess risks. Units need to carefully inspect areas, locations, and sources of waste that are at risk of causing environmental incidents in the management area, especially in industrial parks, wastewater treatment plants, and solid waste treatment areas. From there, units need to develop specific response plans and solutions.

The Department also requires units to implement a Plan to overcome environmental incidents after storms and floods, ensuring timeliness and effectiveness to minimize damage caused by storms and floods. To ensure smooth coordination, the Department of Agriculture and Environment requires units to report all difficulties and problems arising during the implementation process to the Department of Environmental Protection.

On June 12, along the Hoang Sa route leading to Son Tra peninsula, about 10 large and small landslides appeared due to prolonged heavy rain. In particular, in the area near Linh Ung Pagoda, soil, rocks, mud and many fallen trees have overflowed onto the road, causing serious traffic obstruction. In some other locations, landslides have caused large rocks, estimated to weigh over 1 ton, rolling down from the positive slope, lying blocking the road, posing a potential risk to the safety of people and vehicles when traveling through this area.

The Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches and related units urgently mobilized human resources and means to clear the scene. The large rocks will be lifted by specialized vehicles to ensure safety. In the face of complicated storms and floods, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches has also announced the temporary suspension of sightseeing activities on Son Tra Peninsula.
