R&D on high technology and FPT semiconductor chips has a total site area of nearly 3,000m2, inheriting the facilities of the modern technology center, with a location facing the estuary.
The establishment of the R&D Center is one of the steps to concretize the commitment to the comprehensive cooperation program of FPT Corporation and the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City announced in January 2025.
Accordingly, the two sides will cooperate in investing in research, development of technology and resources in the semiconductor and artificial intelligence (AI) industry, FPT is also the first technology unit to operate at the new Software Park No. 2 of the city.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ho Ky Minh - Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee said that, implementing Resolution 57, Da Nang identified the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation as the top important breakthrough, the main driving force in socio-economic development.
Da Nang aims to have the digital economy contribute 35-40% of the city's GRDP by 2030; other indicators such as science, technology, innovation and solid development of digital transformation; Da Nang city will be one of the digital technology and innovation industrial centers of Vietnam and the Asian region.
In particular, artificial intelligence and semiconductor microchips are one of the strategic spearheads, the key for Da Nang to open the door to the future. The goal is that by 2030, the city will have at least 5,000 talented engineers in the field of microchips and semiconductors.
The opening of the concentrated information technology park, Da Nang Software Park No. 2 marks an important step forward in completing Da Nang's technology infrastructure, creating favorable conditions for the development of information technology, semiconductor microchips and artificial intelligence in the city in the coming time.
"In which FPT's pioneering position with the High-Tech R&D Center and semiconductor chips is an important core in the city's technology ecosystem. The city hopes that this place will become a technology nursery where Vietnamese and international experts join hands to develop products that have made the Make in Vietnam mark, becoming a bridge for the startup community to create an ecosystem, share knowledge and experience, and strongly spread the spirit of innovation throughout the city" - Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh emphasized.
